Having the correct riding position on any bicycle is vital for optimal performance  . Velocity Bikes considers this to be one of the most important factors ahead of purchasing any new bike or frame. Correct position optimises areodynamics, biomechanical efficiency and comfort. This adds up to better cycling.
Velocity Bikes are experts in fitting anyone using the Bikefitting system (pictured right). By using our knowledge and experience, together with your feedback, the best size option (bike or frame) can be found quickly for you using the same computerised system used by Olympic gold medal winners and major continental pro teams. Bikefitting is the only fitting and position system that gives comprehensive results in a complete range of cycling disciplines.

What's in the fitting service
Bike Fit Standard £65
The Standard Analysis calculates the ideal bicycle size and position of the cyclist. With the help of a computer drawing, each customer can make an educated choice, with our help as to which new bicycle fits. It can also be used to perfectly adjust an existing bicycle. The Standard Measurement Jig is used to precisely determine eight body dimensions. 
- Height
- Foot length (left and right)
- Inseam
- Torso length
- Arm length (left and right)
- Shoulder width
The model of shoe (sole thickness), pedal (height) and type of saddle are also taken into account, as well of the particular cycling discipline and intensity level.
The charge for the Bike Fitting is only £65, this includes, pre-measuring consultation, measuring, diagrams and a visual check on your existing position (if fitting is for an existing bike). If you are purchasing a new bicycle from Velocity Bikes we will make the changes required to fit you new drawing to you new bike without charging you extra, as long as the changes are at the same cost, i.e If a bike comes as standard with a 110mm stem and your drawing works out that you need a 120mm, then we will change this free of charge as long as the replacement part is the same price.

Shimano Custom-Fit Technology
Custom-Fit adapts to you instead of the other way around. When every foot is different, how do you obtain a perfrect fit?
Current fitting systems - no matter how fancy - still have to force a particular foot (namely yours) to conform to a standard shoe size. But shoes aren't socks. Gaps and uneven contact points between your human foot and your man-made shoe degrade the transfer of power from your body to your bike. Every gap slows you down. Shimano's new Custom-Fit  Technology eliminates those spaces and irregular contacts to create a racing shoe that actually does fit like a luxurious glove or a perfectly fitted ski boot. Power transfer, endurance, and overall performance spike like a podium heartbeat. Custom-Fit is at the vanguard of cycling's quest for a pure transfer of power. We provide this service free of charge if a Custom-Fit shoe is purchased through Velocity Bikes and £50 if you provided your own shoes.
Test ride/hire a Fizik saddle
Saddles are very personal and getting the one that suits you can be a "pain in the bum", so we have addressed this by bringing in a range of Fizik saddles, three shapes in road and three in MTB to hire to test ride. To get you off to a great start we check your flexibility to determine the correct model for you, we then check your saddle height on our Bike Fitting jig (very important as no saddle will be comfortable without the right height). All you need to do is give it ago for seven days and tell us what you think.
All you need to do is book your test ride with us, pay for the saddle (saddles all start around £100). Hire the saddle and test for seven days. If it's the saddle for you, you can choose a new stock saddle and only pay for the saddle, if you don't like it you get your payment for the saddle back less a hire fee of £2 per day back. It's the best way to be sure it's the saddle for you.
